Some of you are needed already at this stage, e.g. in groups planning sports events, communications people, translators from Danish to English, German, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, French and many other languages.
We need people with expertise, e.g. in the fields of IT/web, alert services, HIV/Aids, logistics, communication...
We need those of you who have imaginative ideas and who wish to use Outgames as a platform for initiatives such as exhibitions, parties, concerts, food…
We need all of you who want to take up practical tasks when World Outgames is held in 2009, e.g. fetching the football during the soccer tournament, runners for the dancing competition, practical hands during the Opening and Closing ceremonies, guides, receptionists, bartenders, party makers, cleaners…
You can register as a volunteer in a wide range of entertaining and interesting activities. For example, you may want to volunteer to assist us with:
- The sports programme
- The cultural programme
- “Love of freedom – freedom to love”, the International conference on LGBT rights
- Communication
- Accreditation
- Opening or closing ceremonies
- Logistical services (security, transportation, accreditation, reception area, commercial activities, or local host programme)
The 2nd World Outgames will need your help for all aspects of the event itself in 2009; but we also need some of you to help now and in the months leading up to the summer of 2009. Whether you want to volunteer for the challenge of trying new things, to make new friends, to put your professional experience to work for a good cause, to work for the advancement of gay and lesbian rights, or to have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, we are pleased to welcome you to our team.
The volunteers will be the "face" of Outgames and the “back bone” of the system.
Outgames is a diversity project. Everyone is welcome to join as a volunteer. To us ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or age make no difference!
